pear and walnut salad: maryclaire's request

We had this on New Year's and it was sooooo yummy. I don't have a picture... Pretty simple but make sure when you are drying the lettuce, don't have it hanging out of a bowl with water constantly dropping into your cell phone.

Ingredients:
3 cups pre-washed romaine, torn
3 cups pre-washed baby spinach, torn
1 red pear, chopped
1/2 cup dried cranberries
4 oz. goat cheese, crumbled
4 oz. walnuts, toasted and coarsely chopped
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Directions: In a salad bowl combine romaine, baby spinach, pear, cranberries, cheese, and walnuts; set aside.For vinaigrette, whisk to together vinegar, oil, garlic, poppy seeds, brown sugar, salt, and pepper; pour over salad. Toss to combine.
